Welcome to my World

Welcome to my World

About me......

I'm a 73 year old wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With my husband and our  2 Chihuahuas Max & Molly we live in mid-Missouri.

Until  thirteen  years ago I  pretty well devoted my life to my family. As a child I didn't have much of a family life. My father was killed in the Korean war when I was 15 days old and my mom had issues with alcoholism her whole life, so it was important for me to give my family the life, I didn't have, but wanted.

Sixteen years ago, my husband and I moved from our hometown, where we had lived our whole lives 80 miles away so that I could care for our youngest grandchild, Corbin. You can follow Corbin's racing career by clicking the CORBIN COLLINS' RACING widget on my home page.
Thirteen years ago his mommy, our daughter quit her job to be a bigger part of his life, so I found myself spending my spare time learning how to design and  blog. NEVER having and education or classes in graphic design I was and have been challenged. Some days I feel as though I've conquered and others I feel there's so far to go. I had never seen a blog until I joined the infamous world of Pinterest and was immediately intrigued. 195,000 views of my blog and almost 3,000 followers on Pinterest  , I think I've figured most of it out.......maybe.
I don't ever want to stop learning or loving this craft.......
My designs are created for you. I want to contribute to your crafting & journaling.
Always do something you love and gives you happiness.

DECEMBER 2014

Last week I volunteered at my grandson's kindergarten class, helping the children make their gingerbread houses.....the most fun ! When it was all over we had as much icing on us as our gingerbread houses did.

Hello Glendal
I too have just found your blog on Pinterest, and As it's a wet Sunday here in The UK I have requested my hubby (Mr Tall) to investigate Pinterest on my behalf.
I've just read your profile and it's heartening to see that you had to learn about blogging etc, I'm not very technical with pc's etc so I need his help.
There's so much inspiration out there and as I've only just tentatively started journaling your very generous printables are a joy... THANK YOU.
We also have a 3 year old Golden Retreiver who needs a wet walk.... So must fly.
Hope to visit you again soon.

I just stumbled on your blog and your doing a wonderful job with all your creations. We are pretty close in age and I spent years building two websites that sadly I had to take down. Hoping to get them back up soon. Creating a blog is much easier as all the coding it down for you but I love doing it. Graphic design is so much fun and I've taken classes for Photoshop, Serif DrawPlus, Dreamweaver and a few more. Your creations are amazing and very much appreciated.

Glenda's World said...

Sande, wonderful hearing from you..........I would LOVE to take some classes.
I did the web page too........gave it up.....too many strigs tied to it and really was not very productive for me.
PLEASE let me know when you get your blog back up and shinning !
Would love to see it

Hi Glenda. What a wonderful blog. I wonder if you would be so kind as to tell me the font you used in your opening note. It reminds me of old time beautiful handwriting! I too live in Missouri.

Glenda, thank you for sharing. You have a beautiful blog. I too was challenged with making a web page. It was about 15 years ago. I am now 65. It was called Plan An Elegant Tea Party. I have since closed it down when I started to cater tea parties. I also no longer do that. I am now creating Junk Journals and I just love it. As I was looking at images I happened upon your blog and have enjoyed it immensely! Thank you again and keep up the good work!

JoAnn,
It's so nice to hear from you and hear about your adventures.
I really enjoy designing and creating. At 72 and have had a heart attack, I've slowed down as my medications make me tired and it's difficult to fit all the things I want to do and do the things I have to do into my schedule.
I love journals of all kinds and find it most rewarding.
Thank you for the kind words of encouragement.
Take care and enjoy your journaling.
