It's that time of the year...........the tomato vines are filled with green, pink and red tomatoes..........what a blessing. I wanted to share with you a favorite recipe...GREEN TOMATO CHUTNEY. Delisious on hamburgers, hot dogs or a big bowl of brown beans and cornbread this winter ! Tomatoe have this bad habit of coming on all at once so I always make a recipe or two.

glenda's Almond Joy Valentines Cake

You are probably already aware of these three grate  recipes but just in-case your not..... The Almond Joy Pudding was my inspiration for this cake and what better time than Valentines Day. There's lots of recipes using the almond joy candy bar but they're a little too heavy for my  Husband's  taste. Cakes baked with instant pudding are still at the top of my list to experiment with. Most Valentines Days I bake my Daughter and Son In Law a cake in the heart shaped aluminum cake pans for my Grandson Corbin to give to his Mommy and Daddy. Of coarse him helping adds to making the occasion special.

My Husband loves cake but he's the only one in the house that eats it so I bake my cakes in the 8" X  8" aluminum pans with lids and I freeze one or share with a neighbor.

As always, I've given you the 5" X 7" recipe card.

I do hope each of you have a wonderful Valentines Day...................love  glenda

Steve's Favorite Pineapple-Up-Side-Down Cake

Last night my Husband was wanting an up-side-down cake, his favorite. Through 43 years of marriage I've had a lot of practice to perfect a recipe. I know pineapple is one of those fruits you love or hate, but if you or you have a pineapple lover in the family try my recipe.
Let me know what you think...good bad or ugly..helpful tips are welcome too.
*** don't forget, there's a FREE recipe card at the bottom**

glenda's Heavenly Apple Cake

This cake is soooo good.
I don't know why but the white cake mix is used in the recipe is so much better than a yellow, but if you have a yellow, don't hesitate to try it, but I promise the next time you make it you'll want to see for yourself if the white is better. I'm going to do a little advertising for Aldi here. If you have an Aldi near you, you already know they're cake mixes are the best and a lot cheaper.
The country apple pie fillingDuncan Hines Comstock® Country Appleis sometimes hard to find, but during the Thanksgiving season it is everywhere, so I always buy 4-5 cans as this my husband's favorite cake.
